Congratulations to Smeraldo Restaurant!

Posted on December 31, 2019 by Carol Hill

In 1984, Carmine Smeraldo opened Il Terazzo Carmine becoming a staple of Pioneer Square in Seattle. After his sudden passing in 2012, no one was sure what would happen to this main stay, but his sons, Carmine Jr. and Phillip along with their mother stepped up to keep the doors open. Since 2012, the family has not only kept the wonderful first eatery alive, but opened an adjacent bar, Intermezzo Carmine, and a second restaurant, Carmine’s in Bellevue.

The Family Business Awards honor family businesses within Washington state that set the standard for excellence and success. Quality, consistency and flexibility are terms that often rise to the top of descriptions for the honorees in Seattle Business magazine’s Family Business Awards program. A common thread among all of them: growing the business while serving their communities and paying close attention to the personal touch in customer service. Honorees were announced on December 5th at the 10th Annual Family Business Awards Gala at Hyatt at Olive 8 and were featured in the December issue of Seattle Business magazine.*

LHS&E  congratulates this wonderful family on their well-deserved award and wish them many years of continued success.
