October is Global Diversity Awareness Month

October is Global Diversity Awareness Month! It’s a great time to pay tribute to the diverse minds and beliefs held by all cultures around the world.

When World War II ended, the United Nations General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in Paris. The declaration defines the global expression of rights to all human beings irrespective of their identity. We must acknowledge that every human being deserves equal human rights, and this declaration was meant to include every individual regardless of gender, caste, religion, race, sexuality, ethnicity, or language, and otherwise.

Global Diversity Awareness Month is an opportunity to learn about various cultures, explore the beauty of unity in diversity, and celebrate the differences in cultures in our own country! You can learn more about Global Diversity Awareness Month and the cultural diversity of our country (from statistics resulting from the 2020 Census).
