If you're Food Lifeline's award-winning fundraising event, Food Frenzy, it's a perfect fit! This friendly competition, between local public sector organizations, law, accounting and design/construction firms, focuses on childhood hunger, an issue that takes on greater significance during the summer months when children are out of school and unable to count on the lunch and, in some cases, breakfast that they receive during the school year. Each year the event kicks off with a call from the "Challenging Firms" - one from each participating sector. This year, Food Frenzy's challenging firms are Davis Wright Tremaine LLP, Clothier & Head, P.S., Seattle Metropolitan Credit Union, Olson Kundig Architects, and the King County Prosecuting Attorney's Office and is supported by Cedar Grove Composting. The actual Food Frenzy activities take place July 9 through July 23 and the competition is going to be fierce! Participating organizations and firms have been known to hold all sorts of crazy fundraising events, from American Idol-style competitions between nominated partners and employees, "Meal or No Meal" games and Karaoke sing-offs to spaghetti dinners, arts and craft sales and good old bake sales. And, they have a big goal this year - to raise enough funds and food to provide more than 1.3 million meals to hungry children in Western Washington.
