Noteworthy
Maya finds her work in family law to be a natural fit for her personality. She loves problem solving and understands the complexities, both legal and emotional, that come with practicing family law. She is sensitive to the clients' needs and considers herself and her client a team working aggressively toward the best possible resolution for her client. She is an excellent negotiator but is also a strong advocate when it is clear that negotiation will not provide an equitable outcome for the client.

Maya has assisted in litigating some of the largest dissolution cases in Washington.

Fluent in Spanish, Maya spent a year in Spain and received her degree in Spanish studies at the University of Salamanca.

While in law school, Maya had the benefit of exposure to various areas of law, interning at a major pharmaceutical company and as a law clerk to the honorable W.H. Dumont in the Civil Division of New Jersey. This experience has served her well in her practice of law today. She was also a recipient of Seton Hall School of Law Chancellor’s Merit Scholarship Award (2000).

Prior to working at Lasher, Maya worked at Janet A. George, P.S.
